We offer gratitude to the Wild. For the rare and sacred places on earth where true wilderness reigns. Forthose edge places on the borders of our gardens and our consciousness where the wild interlaces with the tame, awakening us with inspiration. For the indomitable Wild that creeps or flies or pushes up through the pavement even into our cities, reminding us of Life.

We offer gratitude for the untamed winds and waters that stir our atmosphere and our souls. We give thanks to the wild plants full of sacred medicine. And to the animals who tenaciously survive in pockets of wilderness all over the earth: we offer gratitude and apologies for making things so difficult for you. We extend our thanks to all the humans who seek to really know you and your needs and who strive to restore your wild places so you can live.

To wild Water, with your great power to cleanse and nourish us and our world, we offer thanks. We treasure you and ask you to clear our minds and hearts and help us know how to honor you properly. We are sorry for all our human activity that has polluted the rivers and oceans, and we intend to find a way forward toward a world of clear waters. We offer gratitude to the humans who are finding ways, with help from the Plant Beings, to clean the flowing waters, and to restore the living soil.

We seek to rediscover the Wild in our own souls and to let its voice be heard. Into our lives we invite communion with the Plants and Animals, the Stones and the Elements. We honor our deep ancestors, to whom this communion was a given, as we humbly ask to receive this gift again.

May we come into alignment with the Guardians of the Wild, and may the Wild flourish within us.
