Honoring Depth and Community
Have you ever stood by the shore and felt the Ocean breathe?
Vast and fluid, the Ocean moves in tides and currents, whispering in the voices of waves, shells, and salt winds. Beneath the surface lies a world of astonishing diversity—kelp forests swaying like underwater cathedrals, coral reefs alive with color, whales singing across whole oceans. Every creature belongs to a larger symphony of life, woven together by water’s ceaseless flow.
The Ocean is not apart from us—it flows through our veins as saltwater, it shapes the air we breathe, the food we eat, the rhythms of our days. To meet the Ocean is to meet our own beginnings, to remember that life first arose in her waters, and that she continues to sustain us in ways both visible and unseen.
The Ocean gives abundantly: oxygen, nourishment, beauty, pathways for story and song. In return, she asks for reverence and care.
To honor the Ocean is to surrender to her rhythms, to listen for the teachings carried in each tide, and to remember ourselves as water beings—part of her endless flow.
Ocean Gratitude Ceremony
*September 20, 2025 at your own time
This is a coordinated prayer that you offer in your own landscape (not an online event)
ONE coordinates this global ceremony for people and Nature, so that each gratitude ceremony, including yours, becomes one of many bright shining lights across the Earth.
To help get you started with your ceremony, we’ve created a printable instruction sheet to guide you. This framework allows you to infuse your creativity and open heart into the ceremony.
We invite you to let us know you’re participating and to share your Ocean love notes and stories through the “Let us know you’re participating” button.
Reciprocity is the cornerstone of a strong relationship with our Nature kin, and expressing gratitude is essential to building a co-creative partnership with our landscapes. Preparing for this ceremony and sharing your gratitude will deepen your connection and understanding with our Ocean.
As you express your gratitude for the Ocean where you live, you’re contributing your heart and energy to a vibrant future for Earth and all life.
*If you are not able to participate in the ceremony on September 20th, we invite you to offer it any time between September 20th and November 9th. Your prayers will contribute to the collective energetic field we are creating.

Meditation ~ The Ocean Reveals
This meditation was inspired by Point Loma Peninsula where I spent a great deal of time between the ages of 6-11 on the shores. Particularly during the Fall and the Winter when low tide came during the day. I lived my days by the ebb and flow of the Great Mother's breath. This is an homage to the tidepools carved out by rhythmic respirations. - Myra Jackson
