What does it mean to listen across species, across culture, across land?
This month, we welcome Linda Tucker, Founder of the Global White Lion Protection Trust, for a conversation on the White Lions of Timbavati: a genetic rarity found nowhere else on Earth, held sacred for generations by the Tsonga and Sepedi communities, and among the most endangered lions in the world today.
In 1991, a threshold encounter with a pride of lions changed the course of Linda's life. Guided back by a Tsonga medicine woman, she left behind a career in international marketing and turned toward the White Lions, devoting more than three decades to their protection. In 2002, she founded the Global White Lion Protection Trust, securing nearly 12,300 acres of protected bushveld within UNESCO's Kruger to Canyons Biosphere and leading the reintroduction of a founding pride of White Lions back into their natural ecosystem.
Her work has grown into what she calls LionHearted Leadership, a model that weaves conservation, cultural revival, and community together, and carries forward through the StarLion eco-cultural education program for the region's next generation.

She’s raised millions of dollars to secure vast wilderness in the heart of UNESCO’s Kruger-to-Canyons Biosphere, where she and her team have successfully reintroduced White Lions back to their natural ecosystem.
